TimCode

Affordable custom native apps and websites

I'm Tim Buckers, Master Computer Science student at the TU Delft. TimCode is my one-man business. Mostly focused on creating mobile applications and websites. However, other computer science related projects are not excluded. This website contains some of the finished previous projects and some hobby projects.

I contributed to the app development of the native Android and iOS app of Chainels. Chainels is an online platform for B2B communication in shopping districts. Retailers, owners, security guards and other stakeholders can communicate with each other about various topics using a range of tools.

I created this app for my own convenience. It's really hard to remember all the funny moments you have with friends. Some of those moments are not more than a funny sentences in the right context. For these kind of moments I created QuoteShare. With this app you can keep track of all your quotes. After creating the first version my friends kept coming with extra features. Such as sharing quotes in groups or rating the quotes. I added all those features later on to improve the app.

This app was a good place to experiment with new tools, such as Firebase. Firebase makes it easy to make this app synchronize real-time with a database.

Project March

Currently, I'm working in a student team building an exoskeleton. My position is software engineer. We work with C++ and python in ROS. ROS stands for Robotic Operating System. ROS is an open-source, meta-operating system for your robot. Due to the open source nature I learn working with many different projects and tools. Understanding the code of other projects is very informative. Besides all the technical challenges, I learn about working in a multidisciplinary team as well.

Giving back mobility to people with a Spinal Cord Injury to fully participate in daily activities and in this way contribute to quality of life. That is what Project MARCH is about. The exoskeleton is an essential step to a future where there are no more wheelchairs on the streets. The ultimate goal is to make an exoskeleton that is accessible and available for everyone who can benefit from it. In one year we are building a fully functional exoskeleton. Our team consists of TU Delft students from different backgrounds.

Augmented Reality Game

This was a bachelor project where I and an other student worked on. After creating the game, we also wrote a paper. This paper explains the goal of the project in more detail. During this project I learned a lot about Augmented Reality, but also about programming in C#.

VRabl is a novel multiplayer augmented reality sports game. It is built using the Unity game engine. Most of the code is written in C#. 3D models for the game are created in Blender. This game was a test to make physical movement more engaging and fun. The game is created for the Microsoft Hololens.

Unified ASAT Visualizer

Creating this tool was a Bachelor project. After completing the project we were asked to write a paper about it. This paper was accepted to the conference and we won an award (SANER 2017 Best Tool Award). This tool is only a prototype to illustrate the potention of this concept.

Blanc Essentials

For Blanc Essentials I built the Android and iOS app. Both apps are native and connected with the webshop. The company focused on having clear and simple shopping apps from day one. This required features such as integrating payment in the app, determining mailing address by GPS and scanning QR codes in stores.

Blanc wants to provide luxury clothing with respect to sustainability. They create premium basics that are ethically produced, simple to shop and priced fairly.
